Guest Announcement: Bryan Young

Bryan headshotKaleidoscope Track is happy to announce that Bryan Young will be returning as a guest for the KT Track. KT fans will remember Bryan from the 2012 panels Geek Parents and Read-a-Likes.

Bryan Young is a novelist, comics writer, filmmaker, and columnist. He’s produced films for The Disinformation Company, written comics for Image Comics, and Slave Labor Graphics, written bestselling genre novels, and writes for Huffington Post, StarWars.Com, and Big Shiny Robot! Guest Announcement: Janine K. Spendlove

JanineSpendloveKaleidoscope Track is happy to announce that Janine K. Spendlove will be returning as a guest for the KT Track. KT fans will remember Janine from the 2012 panels Geeks Rule!, Read-a-Likes, Phineas and Ferb Uncovered, Girlz Rule and Bad Boys! Bad Girls!.

Janine K. Spendlove is a KC-130 pilot in the United States Marine Corps. Her bestselling first novel, War of the Seasons, Book One: The Human, was published in June 2011 and her next novel, War of the Seasons, Book Two: The Half-blood, was released in June 2012. She’s also had several short stories published in various anthologies. A graduate from Brigham Young University in 1999 with a BA in History Teaching, she is an avid runner, enjoys knitting, playing Beatles tunes on her guitar, and spending time with her family. She resides with her husband and daughter in Washington, DC. She is currently at work on her next novel. Find out more at WarOfTheSeasons.Com

The volunteers of the Kaleidoscope Track are excited to be able to work with Janine in 2013!

Volunteers Needed!

The Kaleidoscope Track is looking for a few good Volunteers. We would prefer someone over the age of 18 years old with previous Dragon* Con experience.

Due to the fact that we provide programming for kids and families, we are looking for some specific qualities. The “perfect” candidate:

  1. Must be able to work with kids and parents including answering questions, interacting with the kids, and having FUN with our programming.
  2. Should have an interest in the shows from the Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon and the Disney Channel. Or at least be willing to watch them for the purpose of programming.
  3. Must able to work in a group environment, take direction and meet deadlines including D*C meetings and online collaboration with the staff.
  4. Willing to plan and organize ahead of the convention
  5. Be able to lead panels and interview media guests
  6. Must be able to comply with all the rules and expectations for Dragon*Con Volunteers
