Kaleidoscope Track

at Dragon Con

July 16th, 2014

The Kaleidoscope Track would like to thank all of our guests, attending professionals and fans for a great 2014 convention. A fun time was had by everyone. Kids and families gathered at the track room to discuss gaming, dragons, zombies, and superheroes. Our first kid’s writing workshop was a huge success thanks to our partners from Silence in the Library Publishing and Big Shiny Robot. Families enjoyed one-on-one time with author Bryan Young during our first annual book club.

Guests from Power Rangers Samurai held Ranger Training. Topics included fitness, health, and respect. Everyone channeled their inner Power Ranger during the interactive training. Hundreds of fitness fans participated in the Geek Girls Run 2nd Annual Fun Run. Both the KT Track and Geek Girls Run were featured in the How Stuff Works video – 5 Things You Didn’t Know about Dragon Con. youtu.be/uqbq24wL8Gw

Families crowded into our Family Fun Dance and Sing-a-Long. Everyone danced and sang along to great music provided by DJ Mel. Doctor Osborne provided everyone with a great balloon hat, sword or flower. There was a surprise visit at the dance from ten Disney Princesses, Captain America and Spider-man while Doctor Facilier and Maleficent represented the spookier side of things.

Disney fans of all ages enjoyed meeting Bill Farmer, the voice of Doc on the new hit show The 7D and the classic characters Goofy and Pluto. Pirates everywhere enjoyed meeting Lee Arenberg and Kevin McNally from the Disney movie Pirates of the Caribbean. Parents shared lots of secrets and advice during our theme parks panel while kids discussed their favorite princesses and princes.

Fans of Adventure Time with Finn and Jake were treated to a surprise live script read. Each day two kids were cast from the audience to read a script live on stage with our guests.

The Kaleidoscope Track volunteers are already planning for the 2015 convention. We would like to hear your suggestions. Follow us on social media everywhere. Links can be found at kaleidoscope.dragoncon.org
